٦٣٦ - حماد بن هبة الله بن حماد بن فضيل أبو الثناء التاجر الحراني: ساخر الكثير. سمع إسماعيل السمرقندي ببغداد وعبد السلام بن أحمد بكبرة وغيره بهراة وأبا محمد بن رفاعة بمصر وأبا طاهر بن سلفة بالإسكندرية. وسمع منه عمر العليمي سنة ثمان وستين وخمسمائة ببغداد، وصنّف تاريخا لحرّان وحدث به. أنشدني فرقد بن عبد الله الإسكندري أنشدني حماد بحران لنفسه: ولد حمّاد سنة إحدى عشرة وخمسمائة وتوفي بحران في آخر سنة ثمان وتسعين وخمسمائة. (قلت: روى عنه عبد القادر الرهاوي والموفق بن قدامة والعلم السخاوي والضياء محمد وابن عبد الدائم وعبد اللطيف).
