    ذكر ترجمة شهاب الدين المذكور كان شجاعًا كثير الغزو، عادلًا في الرعية، وكان الإمام فخر الدين الرازي ﵀ يعظُه في داره، فحضر يومًا ووعظه وقال في آخر كلامه: يا سلطان لا سلطانك يبقى ولا تلبيس الرازي. فبكي شهاب الدين حتى رحمه الناس، وكان فخر الدين الرازي في صحبته حين قتل، فاتهمه بعض الخاصكين بقتله، فخاف من ذلك والتجأ إلى الوزير مؤيد الملك بن خواجا، فسيره إلى حيث يأمن.
