    ٩٨٩ - الصّدّيق بن على بن محمد بن على القاضى، الفقيه، العلاّمة، رضىّ الدين، الزّبيدىّ، المعروف بابن الخطيب كان فاضلا، بارعا فى العربيّة، والمعانى والبيان، والمنطق، والأصلين، والتفسير، والفقه. وولى القضاء بزبيد ودرّس، وأفاد. وكان فى تلك البلاد رئيس الحنفيّة ورأسهم، محبّا فى أهل مذهبه، معظّما لهم، وله فى القلوب موقع وجلالة، مع الديانة والصّيانة، والعفّة والنّزاهة. مات فى شهر رمضان، سنة ثلاث وتسعين وثمانمائة، رحمه الله تعالى. ***
