أبو القاسم عوض بن فخير بن رمضان بن عبد الملك القرشي الفهري الفوي المولد المصري المعروف بالأديب القطان، بمصر. صحب الأديب أبا الطاهر إسماعيل بن عمر العطار وحدث عنه بشيء من شعره وحدث بشيء من شعر نفسه. كتبت عنه، (وسألته) عن مولده، فقال: في يوم الأربعاء مستهل ربيع الآخر سنة خمس وخمسين، يعني وخمس مئة، بفوة، وكان محبا للفضيلة: كثير الشغف بمعرفة التواريخ وحفظ مواليد الأعيان ووفياتهم وحفظ الوقائع. وفخير: بضم الفاء المعجمة وسكون الياء آخر الحروف وبعدها راء مهملة.٢٩٩٢ - وفي ليلة السابع والعشرين من شهر رمضان توفي القاضي الأجل
