أبو الثناء محمود بن عبد اللطيف بن محمد بن سيما بن عامر بن إبراهيم بن سالم السلمي المحتسب، ودفن بسفح جبل قاسيون. حدث عن القاضي أبي سعد عبد الله بن أبي عصرون، وأبي عبد الله محمد بن علي بن صدقة الحراني، وأبي محمد عبد المحسن بن ختلغ المسمى بطغدى، والحافظ أبي محمد القاسم بن علي الشافعي، وجماعة سواهم. وحدث. ولنا منه إجازة كتب بها إلينا من دمشق غير مرة إحداهن في سنة تسع وعشرين وست مئة.٢٧٦٠ - وفي ليلة التاسع والعشرين من شوال توفي الشيخ الأجل الصالح
