أبو الحسن علي بن أبي الفرج محمد بن جعفر بن معالي البصري الأصل البغدادي المولد التاجر المؤدب المعروف بابن كبة، ببغداد، ودفن بالشونيزية. ومولده ببغداد في سنة خمس وخمسين وخمس مئة. سمع من أبي الفتح محمد بن عبد الباقي بن أحمد. وحدث، وكان حسن الطريقة يؤدب الصبيان، ولنا منه إجازة كتب بها إلينا من بغداد غير مرة. ⦗٤٥٤⦘ وكبة: بضم الكاف وتشديد الباء الموحدة وفتحها وتاء تأنيث.٢٧٤٧ - وفي النصف من رجب توفيت الشيخة
