أبو الثناء محمود بن همام بن محمود الأنصاري المقرئ الضرير المنعوت بالعفيف، ودفن من يومه بسفح قاسيون. حدث عن أبي الفرج يحيى بن محمود الثقفي، وأبي الفضل إسماعيل بن علي الجنزوي، وأبي طاهر بركات بن إبراهيم الخشوعي، وجماعة سواهم. وحدث، ولنا منه إجازة كتبت لنا عنه في شهر ربيع الآخر سنة ست وعشرين وست مئة. وهمام: بفتح الهاء وتشديد الميم وفتحها وبعد الألف ميم. كان مشهورا بالعلم والصلاح والجد في أمور الآخرة.٢٥٢٦ - وفي الثاني والعشرين من شهر ربيع الآخر توفي الشيخ الأجل
