أبو القاسم عبد الغني بن أبي محمد عبد الكريم بن نعمة بن مسرة بن كتائب الثوري السفياني المؤدب المنعوت بالمهذب، بمصر، ودفن من الغد. سمع من أبي محمد عبد الله بن بري النحوي، وتأدب عليه، وكان له شعر. وحدث. سمعت منه وسألته عن مولده، فقال: يكون تقديرا في سنة أربع وستين أو قبلها بيسير. وكان متأدبا فاضلا حسن المحاضرة. وكان يذكر أنه من ولد سفيان الثوري.٢٤٢٢ - وفي ليلة الحادي عشر من ذي القعدة توفي الشيخ
