أبو القاسم عبد الرحمان بن علي بن أبي مطر العسقلاني السكري المعروف بابن المحتسب، بمصر، ودفن من الغد بسفح المقطم. سمع ببغداد من أبي القاسم ذاكر بن كامل بن أبي غالب الخفاف. وحدث بمصر، وذكر ما يدل على أن مولده سنة ثلاثين وخمس مئة. وكان شيخا صالحا مقبلا على ما يعنيه. وذكر ابن أخيه أن مولده سنة ست وثلاثين وخمس مئة.٢٣٨٣ - وفي ليلة الثاني والعشرين من شهر ربيع الآخر توفي الشيخ
