أبو بكر عبد الله بن معالي بن أحمد البغدادي الرياني الحنبلي، ببغداد، ودفن من الغد بمقبرة الإمام أحمد ﵁. تفقه على الفقيه أبي الفتح ابن المني، وغيره. وسمع من أبي الفتح ابن المني، ومن شهدة بنت أحمد الكاتبة. وحدث. وهو منسوب إلى الريان -بفتح الراء المهملة وتشديد الياء آخر الحروف وفتحها وبعد ⦗٢٦٣⦘ الألف نون-: محلة بشرقي بغداد قرب باب الأزج. فأما محمد بن أحمد الرياني النسائي فهو منسوب إلى الريان: قرية من قرى نسا بخواسان، حدث عن أبي مصعب الزهري.٢٢٨٧ - وفي ليلة السابع من جمادى الأولى توفي (الشيخ) الفقيه
