أبو المعروف صدقة بن سعيد بن أبي السعود بن سعيد بن عطية البغدادي التاجر المنعوت بالعفيف، بدمشق، ودفن بها. وكان قد اشتغل بالأدب والطب، وقال الشعر، وسافر إلى خراسان، وما وراء النهر وغير ذلك في التجارة. كتبت عنه شيئا من شعره، وسألته عن مولده فذكر ما يدل تخمينا على أنه ولد سنة ست أو سبع وسبعين وخمس مئة، يعني ببغداد. وكان قدم مصر وسكنها وتحبب إلى أهلها ولم يزل بها إلى أن توجه منها قاصدا إلى بغداد فوصل إلى دمشق فأدركه أجله بها.٢٢٧٤ - وفي العشرين من المحرم توفي الفقيه
