أبو محمد يوسف بن المظفر بن شجاع، العاقولي الأصل، ثم البغدادي الأزجي الصفار، ببغداد، ودفن من الغد بمقبرة الإمام أحمد بن حنبل –﵁. ومولده في الثالث من رجب سنة خمس وثلاثين وخمس مئة. صحب الشيخ أبا محمد عبد القادر بن أبي صالح الجيلي، وانتمى إليه، وسمع من أبي القاسم أحمد بن المبارك بن عبد الباقي بن قفرجل، وأبي الفتح محمد بن عبد الباقي بن أحمد، وأبي طالب المبارك بن علي بن محمد بن خضير، وأبي بكر أحمد بن المقرب بن الحسين الكرخي وغيرهم. وحدث، ولنا منه إجازة كتب بها إلينا من بغداد. وكان شيخا صالحا زاهدا يتبرك به. وله كلام حسن على لسان أهل الحقيقة.٢١٤٥ - وفي سلخ المحرم توفي الشيخ
