أبو المهند سيف بن محمد بن عبد الله، الشافعي المنعوت بالتقي، بكشاف، ودفن بها. ومولده تقريبا سنة تسع وستين وخمس مئة. حفظ القرآن الكريم، وتفقه، وكانت له معرفة بشيء من النحو واللغة، وله شعر، وولي قضاء الحديثة. وكتب عنه شيء من شعره. وكان الثناء عليه جميلا. ⦗١٤٧⦘ وكان انتقل إلى كشاف: وهي قرية مطلة على الزاب الكبير من جانب إربل، وهي بضم الكاف وتخفيف الشين المعجمة وبعد الألف فاء.٢٠٣٨ - وفي الرابع من جمادى الأولى توفي الشيخ الصالح
