أبو القاسم وأبو المظفر نصر بن عقيل بن نصر بن عقيل، الإربلي، بالموصل بظاهرها. ومولده بإربل سنة أربع وثلاثين وخمس مئة. تفقه بإربل على عمه أبي العباس الخضر بن نصر بن عقيل. ثم رحل إلى بغداد وأقام بالنظامية مدة، وسمع من أبي الفضل أحمد بن صالح بن شافع وأبي العز يوسف بن أحمد بن إبراهيم الشيرازي، وغيرهما. ورجع إلى إربل وولي التدريس بها بالمدرستين اللتين كان عمه يدرس بهما بالقلعة والربض وأقام بها يدرس ويفتي. ثم توجه إلى الموصل فلم يزل بها مكرما إلى أن مات.١٨٧٢ - وفي الرابع والعشرين من شهر ربيع الآخر توفي الشيخ
