أبو محمد، ويقال: أبو العز، عبد السميع بن عبد العزيز ابن غلاب الواسطي المقرئ الفرضي المعروف بسبط ابن الدباس، ⦗٥٨⦘ بواسط، ودفن بداره. قرأ القرآن الكريم على خاله أبي الحسن علي ابن الدباس المقرئ، وعلى القاضي أبي الفضل هبة الله بن علي ابن قسام، بواسط، وقرأ ببغداد على أبي الخير عبد الله بن عبد الله الجوهري. وسمع بواسط من القاضي أبي طالب محمد بن علي ابن الكتاني، ومن بعده. وأقرأ بواسط، وحدث.١٨٣٦ - وفي ليلة السابع عشر من شهر رمضان توفي القاضي الأجل الصالح الفاضل
