أبو البركات محمد بن أبي جعفر محمد بن الحسين، الشهرستاني الأصل، البغدادي المولد والدار، النحوي، ⦗٤٤⦘ ببغداد، ودفن بالوردية. ومولده في شهر رمضان سنة تسع وأربعين وخمس مئة تقريبا. قرأ على الشيخ أبي محمد عبد الله بن أحمد بن الخشاب النحوي، وأبي الحسن علي بن المبارك المعروف بابن الزاهدة، وتميز في العربية. وذكر أنه سمع الحديث من جماعة ولم يكن عنده شيء من مسموعاته. وحدث بشيء من شعره وشعر غيره.١٨٠٩ - وفي الثامن والعشرين من شهر ربيع الآخر توفي الشيخ الفقيه
