أبو عبد الله محمد ابن الشيخ الفقيه أبي محمد عبد الرحمان بن محمد بن علي ابن الحلوائي البغدادي. سمع بإفادة أبيه من أبي المعالي أحمد بن علي بن علي ابن السمين وغيره. وسمع بنفسه من أبي محمد عبد الله بن منصور بن المؤمل. وحدث. ووالده أبو محمد عبد الرحمان كان من شيوخ الحنابلة وله معرفة بالفقه والتفسير، وحدث. والحلوائي: بفتح الحاء المهملة وسكون اللام، وهذه النسبة إلى بيع الحلواء أو عملها.١٥٧٢ - وفي هذه السنة توفي الشيخ
