أبو الحسن علي بن أبي بكر الهروي الأصل الموصلي المولد السائح الذي كان يكتب على الحيطان وقلما يخلو موضع مشهور من مدينة أو غيرها إلا وفيها خطه حتى ذكر بعض رؤساء الغزاة البحرية أنهم دخلوا في البحر المالح إلى موضع وجدوا في بره حائطا وعليه خطه. سكن حلب واستقر بها إلى حين وفاته، وله بها رباط. وله مصنفات. ⦗٣١٦⦘ وحدث، ولنا منه إجازة كتب بها إلينا من حلب في جمادى الأولى سنة ثمان وست مئة.١٣٦٩ - وفي شهر رمضان أيضا توفي الشيخ الصالح
