أبو الحسن طاووس بن أحمد بن الحسين البغدادي الأزجي الصوفي الدقاق، ببغداد، ودفن بباب حرب. ومولده في سنة تسع وثلاثين وخمس مئة. حفظ القرآن الكريم، وسمع من أبي المعمر عبد الله بن سعد المعروف بخريفة، ومن أبي طالب المبارك بن علي بن خضير وغيرهما. وحدث. وكان يسمي نفسه عبد المحسن طاووسا. وكان الغالب عليه الذي لا يعرف إلا به هو طاووس. والحسن: بضم الحاء وتسكين السين المهملتين. وقيل: كانت وفاته في أوائل جمادى الآخرة من هذه السنة.١٢٩٤ - وفي السادس من جمادى الأولى توفي الوزير الأجل
