أبو الفتوح عبد الرحمان بن أبي الفوارس بن أحمد بن شيران البغدادي السمسار ببغداد، ودفن من الغد بالجانب الشرقي. سمع من أبي غالب محمد بن علي ابن الداية، وأبوي الفضل المحمدين: الأرموي وابن ناصر، وأبي بكر محمد بن عبيد الله بن الزاغوني وغيرهم. وحدث. وذكر ما يدل على أن مولده في سنة سبع عشرة وخمس مئة. وشيران: بكسر الشين المعجمة وبعدها ياء آخر الحروف ساكنة وراء مهملة وبعد الألف نون.١٢٥٥ - وفي الثاني من شعبان توفي الشيخ الفاضل الصالح
