أبو الفخر أسعد بن أبي الفتوح سعيد بن أبي الحسين محمود بن محمد بن أحمد بن جعفر بن روح بن الفرج الأصبهاني التاجر المعروف بابن روح، بأصبهان. ومولده بها في سنة سبع عشرة وخمس مئة في الثاني من ذي الحجة. سمع بأصبهان من أم إبراهيم فاطمة بنت عبد الله الجوزدانية، وأبي الفرج سعيد بن أبي الرجاء الصيرفي، وأبي القاسم زاهر بن طاهر الشحامي. وحدث. ولنا منه إجازة كتب بها إلينا من أصبهان في شهر ربيع الأول سنة ست وست مئة. وهو آخر من روى حديث أبي القاسم الطبراني بعلو.١١٧٦ - وفي الحادي والعشرين من ذي الحجة توفي الشيخ
