أبو المجد زاهر بن أبي طاهر أحمد بن أبي غانم حامد بن أحمد بن محمود الثقفي الأصبهاني، بها. سمع بإفادة والده حضورا من أبي الفضل جعفر بن عبد الواحد الثقفي، وسماعا من أبي بكر محمد بن علي بن أبي ذر الصالحاني، وأبي عبد الله الحسين بن عبد الملك الخلال، وأبي الفرج سعيد بن أبي الرجاء الصيرفي، وأبي القاسم زاهر بن طاهر الشحامي، والحافظ أبي القاسم إسماعيل بن محمد بن الفضل وجماعة غيرهم. وحدث. ولنا منه إجازة كتبها إلينا من أصبهان. وكان شيخا صالحا مكثرا صبورا. وذهب بصره في آخر عمره.١١٧٤ - وفي الثاني من ذي الحجة توفي الشيخ
