أبو المواهب معتوق بن منيع بن مواهب القيلوي الخطيب بقيلوية، وحمل منها إلى بغداد، فدفن بباب حرب. قرأ ببغداد على أبي محمد عبد الله بن أحمد بن أحمد بن أحمد ابن الخشاب، وأبي البركات عبد الرحمان بن محمد ابن الأنباري وأنشأ الخطب. وقال الشعر. وحدث بشيء من شعره. وكانت له معرفة باللغة والنحو. وتولى الخطابة بقيلوية، وهي قرية من قرى نهر الملك وهي بفتح القاف وسكون الياء آخر الحروف وضم اللام وواو ساكنة وياء آخر الحروف مفتوحة وتاء. وقد تقدم الكلام عليها وأنها مواضع.١١١٧ - وفي الثالث عشر من شهر رمضان توفي الشيخ
