أبو علي محمود ابن القاضي أبي البركات عبد الباقي بن أحمد بن إبراهيم بن علي ابن النرسي البغدادي الأزجي. سمع من أبيه، وحدث عنه. ومولده في الثامن والعشرين من شهر رمضان سنة ثلاث وثلاثين وخمس مئة. ووالده أبو البركات عبد الباقي أحد العدول ببغداد وتولى القضاء بباب الأزج، وتولى الحسبة ببغداد، وسمع وحدث. وهو منسوب إلى نرس: نهر بين الكوفة والحلة عليه عدة قرى وهو بفتح النون وسكون الراء المهملة وبعدها سين مهملة. والنرسي أيضا: منسوب إلى الجد، غير واحد من الرواة.١١٠٦ - وفي ليلة التاسع عشر من جمادى الأولى توفي الشيخ الفقيه
