أبو الحسن علي بن أبي بكر محمد بن علي الجرجاني المولد البغدادي الدار والوفاة التاجر، ودفن من الغد بمشهد الإمام موسى بن جعفر ﵉. ومولده سنة تسع وعشرين وخمس مئة. سمع ببغداد من أبي الفتح محمد بن عبد الباقي بن أحمد، وغيره. وحدث بدمشق. ⦗١٣٧⦘ وكان أحد من عرف بكثرة الأسفار من التجار، ودخل خراسان، وركب البحر، ودخل الصين.١٠٢٧ - وفي رجب توفي الشيخ الأجل الأديب
