أبو عبد الله محمد ابن الشيخ أبي الحسن طغان بن بدر بن أبي الوفاء الشافعي، بمصر، ودفن بسفح المقطم. تفقه على مذهب الإمام الشافعي ﵁ وسمع من الشريف الخطيب أبي الفتوح ناصر بن الحسن الزيدي، والعلامة أبي محمد عبد الله بن بري النحوي وجماعة سواهما. وحدث. وأقام بالمسجد الذي بسوق وردان بمصر مدة طويلة وعرف المسجد به. رأيته ولم يتفق لي السماع منه. وطغان: بضم الطاء المهملة وفتح الغين المعجمة وبعد الألف نون.٩٩٥ - وفي ليلة التاسع من المحرم توفي الشيخ الربيب
