أبو علي الحسن بن يوسف بن الحسن بن علي المعروف بابن المحولي. ومولده في شهر رمضان سنة ست وعشرين وخمس مئة. سمع من أبي محمد عبد الله بن علي بن أحمد المقرئ، وأبي الحسن محمد بن طراد الزينبي النقيب، وأبي إسحاق إبراهيم بن محمد بن نبهان الرقي، وأبي الفضل محمد بن عمر الأرموي، وغيرهم. وأجاز. والمحول: بضم الميم وفتح الحاء المهملة وتشديد الواو وفتحها وبعدها لام، قرية كبيرة معروفة بنهر عيسى قريبة من بغداد، وهي إحدى متنزهاتها. وباب المحول: محلة كبيرة بقرب كرخ بغداد ينسب إليها محمد بن خلف ابن المرزبان.٩٥٧ - وفي الرابع والعشرين من شهر ربيع الأول توفي الشيخ الفقيه الأديب
