أبو البركات أسعد بن أحمد بن محمد البلدي الحطابي، ببغداد، ودفن من الغد بداره بالجانب الشرقي. تفقه ببغداد على القاضي أبي يعلى محمد بن محمد ابن الفراء الحنبلي، ثم تفقه بعد ذلك على أبي المحاسن يوسف بن بندار الدمشقي الشافعي. وسمع بها من أبي الوقت عبد الأول بن عيسى، وغيره. وسمع بدمشق من الحافظ أبي القاسم علي بن الحسن الدمشقي. وحدث. والبلدي: نسبة إلى بلد وهي اسم بلدة تقارب الموصل يقال لها بلدة الحطب. والحطابي: بفتح الحاء المهملة وتشديد الطاء المهملة وفتحها وبعد الألف باء موحدة، نسبة إلى جمع الحطب أو بيعه.٨٩٢ - وفي ليلة الثامن من جمادى الآخرة توفي
