أبو إسحاق إبراهيم بن عبد الله بن محمد بن عبد الرحمان العسقلاني الأصل المصري الدار الشافعي المعروف بابن الراعي -براء مهملة- بمصر، ودفن بسفح المقطم. حدث عن أبي الحياة محمد بن عبد الله بن عمر المعروف بابن الطريف، وغيره، وحدث عن شخص يعرف بالداني لم يذكره في ذلك الوقت غيره. وبلغني أنه كان يقول: إن هذا الرجل كان يطلب بدم فلم يجسر على الظهور. هذا أو معناه. اجتمعت معه مرات ولم أسمع منه شيئا. وكان يؤم بسفل مسجد ابن الفرات الذي إلى جانب دارنا مدة.٨٨٧ - وفي السادس عشر من جمادى الأولى توفي الشيخ
