أبو بكر أحمد ابن الشيخ أبي عبد الله الحسين بن أحمد بن علي بن موسى القنائي الأصل البغدادي المولد والدار. سمع مع أبيه من الحافظ أبي الفضل محمد بن ناصر السلامي، وأبي بكر محمد بن عبيد الله ابن الزاغوني، وغيرهما. ويقال: إنه حدث. ونسبته بالقنائي: بضم القاف وتشديد النون وفتحها إلى دير قنى من نواحي النهروان. ⦗٥٢⦘ ووالده أبو عبد الله الحسين سمع من غير واحد، وحدث.٨٥٦ - وفي هذه السنة أيضا توفي الأمير الأجل شمس الدولة
