أبو المعالي أسعد ابن الشيخ الأجل العميد أبي يعلى حمزة بن أسد بن علي بن محمد التميمي الكاتب المعروف بابن القلانسي، بدمشق، ودفن من يومه بجبل قاسيون. ومولده في السابع عشر من شهر رمضان سنة سبع عشرة وخمس مئة. سمع من أبيه، ومن أبي الفتح نصر الله بن محمد اللاذقي. وحدث. ولنا منه إجازة كتب بها إلينا من دمشق في شهر ربيع الآخر سنة خمس وتسعين وخمس مئة. ⦗٤٢٢⦘ وأبوه العميد أبو يعلى حمزة سمع من غير واحد، وحدث.٦٥٩ - وفي الثامن والعشرين من شهر ربيع الأول توفي الشيخ
