أبو علي داوود بن سليمان بن أحمد ابن الوزير الأجل نظام الملك أبي علي الحسن بن علي بن إسحاق الأصبهاني، بأصبهان. ومولده بها في شوال سنة ثمان عشرة وخمس مئة. سمع بأصبهان من أبي منصور سعيد بن أبي الرجاء الصيرفي، وأبي الفضل ⦗٣٧٤⦘ جعفر بن عبد الواحد الثقفي، وأبي عبد الله الحسين بن عبد الملك الخلال، وفاطمة بنت عبد الله الجوزدانية، وخجسته بنت علي بن أبي ذر الصالحاني. وسمع ببغداد من الفقيه أبي منصور سعيد بن محمد بن الرزاز المدرس بمدرسة جده نظام الملك، وغيره. وحدث ببغداد.٥٦٧ - وفي هذه السنة أيضا توفي الشيخ
