أبو الفضل صندل بن عبد الله الحبشي الخادم المقتفوي، ببغداد، ودفن من الغد بالتربة التي عملها لنفسه. سمع من أبي الفتح محمد بن عبد الباقي بن أحمد، وأبي عبد الله محمد بن الحسين بن القاسم التكريتي، وأبي الحسن علي بن عساكر بن المرحب، وغيرهم. وحدث. ويقال: كانت وفاته في التاسع عشر من الشهر المذكور. وهو مولى أمير المؤمنين المقتفي لأمر الله أبي عبد الله محمد –﵁.٣٧٩ - وفي العشرين من شهر ربيع الأول توفي الشيخ الأجل العفيف
