أبو محمد عبد القوي بن عبد الله بن سلامة بن سعد بن سعيد المنذري الشامي الأصل المصري المولد والدار، بمصر، ودفن من الغد بسفح المقطم. وكان مولده نحو سنة أربع وخمسين وخمس مئة بمصر. سمع بمكة –شرفها الله تعالى- من أبي عبد الله محمد بن الحسين الهروي، وبمصر من شيخنا أبي عبد الله محمد بن حمد بن حامد، وعلقت عنه فوائد. وكان يرغبني في الاشتغال بحديث رسول الله ﷺ ويحضني عليه كثيرا، ويبذل ⦗٢٦٤⦘ وسعه في تحصيل ما أسمعه من الكتب –نفعه الله تعالى بذلك-.٣٥٥ - وفي الرابع من شهر رمضان توفي الشيخ المعمر
