أبو الحسن علي بن سعيد بن الحسن ابن العريف البغدادي المأموني الشافعي سمع ببغداد من أبي المعالي أحمد بن محمد بن أحمد المذاري، وأبي الفتح عبد الملك بن أبي القاسم الكروخي، وأبي الوقت عبد الأول بن عيسى، وغيرهم. وصحب الفقيه أبا القاسم يحيى بن علي المعروف بابن فضلان، وتفقه عليه. وهو منسوب إلى المأمونية: المحلة المشهورة ببغداد.٣٣٨ - وفي الثاني والعشرين من جمادى الآخرة توفي الفقيه الأجل قاضي القضاة
