أبو الحسن علي بن هلال بن خميس الواسطي الفاخراني الفقيه الضرير، ببغداد، ودفن بباب حرب. تفقه على مذهب الإمام أحمد بن حنبل –﵁ وسمع من أبي الحسين عبد الحق ⦗٢٣٦⦘ بن عبد الخالق بن أحمد بن يوسف، وأبي الفرج صدقة بن الحسين بن الحسن الناسخ، وفخر النساء خديجة بنت أحمد بن الحسن النهرواني وغيرهم. وحدث. وهو منسوب إلى الفاخرانية: قرية من سواد واسط. والفاخراني: منسوب إلى عمل الفخار غير واحد من الرواة، ويقال له أيضا بالعراق: الكواز.٣٠١ - وفي الرابع والعشرين من ذي الحجة توفي الشيخ
