أبو عبد الله محمد بن إسماعيل بن عبيد الله بن ودعة البغدادي الظفري المعروف بابن البقال، بدمشق. تفقه على مذهب الإمام الشافعي –﵁ وبرع في المذهب والخلاف، وأعاد بالمدرسة النظامية للفقيه أبي الحسن علي بن علي الفارقي، واخترمته المنية شابا. والظفري: بفتح الظاء المعجمة والفاء وكسر الراء المهملة منسوب إلى الظفرية محلة بشرقي بغداد. والظفري أيضا منسوب إلى ظفر بطن من الأنصار. وإلى ظفر بطن من بني سليم، وقيل: هو الذي في الأنصار.١٧٣ - وفي الرابع من شهر رمضان توفي الشيخ
