    ومن بنى جعدة بْن كعب بْن ربيعة بْن عامر بْن صعصعة نابغه بنى جعدة الشاعر، واسمه قيس بن عبد الله بن عدس بن ربيعه بن جعدة، روى عن رسول الله ص. حدثنى عمر بن اسماعيل الهمدانى، قال: حدثنا يعلى بن الاشدق العقيلي، قال: سمعت النابغة، يقول: انشدت النبي ﷺ شعرا فقلت: بلغنا السماء مجدنا وجدودنا ... وانا لنرجو فوق ذلك مظهرا ولا خير في حلم إذا لم تكن له ... بوادر تحمى صفوه ان يكدرا ولا خير في جهل إذا لم يكن له ... حليم إذا ما اورد الأمر اصدرا [قال: فقال النبي ص: اجدت يا أبا ليلى- ثلاثا- لا يفض فوك الا اين المظهر يا أبا ليلى؟ قلت الجنه، قال: الجنه ان شاء الله] . ومنهم حميد بن ثور الهلالي الشاعر.
