    مسعود بن أبي الفضائل علم الدين المعروف بابن حشيش الكاتب. نقل طرائق خاله معين الدين هبة الله بن حشيش وزير المعظم بن الصالح أيوب وكاتبه. وكان قد رتّبه كاتب الوزارة بدمشق مدة، ثم اجتذبه الأشرف موسى صاحب حمص وحظي عنده، وله فيه أبيات: والله لولا الأشرف السلطانُ عنترة الجيوش ما كان ابن حشيش بين الناس إلا كالحشيش ولما توفي الأشرف صاحب حمص استمر علم الدين مسعود كاتب درج النواب بمعلوم من ديوان السلطان، ثم نقل الى كتابة الدرج بدمشق. أقام مدة ثم إنه توفي سنة ست وتسعين وست مئة بدمشق، وسيأتي ذكر ولده القاضي معين الدين هبة الله بن حشيش.
