محمد بن جوهر بن محمد أبو عبد الله التلعفري المقرئ المجود الصوفي. قرأ علي أبي إسحاق بن وثيق لأبي عمرو، وأخذ عنه التجويد ومخارج الحروف. وسمع بحلب عن ابن رواحة، وابن خليل، والصلاح موسى بن راجح، وغيرهم. قال شيخنا الذهبي: قدم علينا دمشق، وقرأت عليه مقدمته في التجويد وجزءاً من الحديث. وكان شيخاً ظريفاً فيه دعابة وحسن محاضرة. وتوفي - رحمه الله تعالى - سنة ست وتسعين. ومولده بتلعفر سنة خمس وست مئة.
