عمر بن محمد بن يحيى بن عثمان القرشي العتبي الإسكندراني، ركن الدين أبو حفص، الشيخ الفقيه المسند المعروف بابن جابي الأحباس. سمع من سبط السلفي جزء الدعاء للمحاملي، وجزء ابن عيينة، وكتاب التوكل لابن أبي الدنيا، ومشيخة السبط، وتفرد في وقته، وكان من الشهود. وكتب عنه أشياخنا: العلامة قاضي القضاة تقي الدين السبكي، والحافظان فتح الدين والذهبي، والحلبي، وعدة. وتوفي رحمه الله تعالى بالثغر ... سنة أربع وعشرين وسبع مئة. ومولده سنة تسع وثلاثين وست مئة.
