علي بن عثمان بن أحمد ابن هبة الله بن أحمد بن عقيل الحكيم، الفاضل بهاء الدين أبو الحسن القيسي المصري، المعروف بابن أبي الحوافر. سمع من النجيب عبد اللطيف، والشريف العماد، وإبراهيم بن محمد بن عبد الوهاب المنقدي، والشيخ شمس الدين بن العماد الحنبلي، ومحمد بن إبراهيم بن رسلان الكلي، وغيرهم. وسمع من قطب الدين القسطلاني، وابن الأنماطي، وحدث. كان طبيباً فاضلاً حسن المعالجة، وبيته معروف ومشهور. وكان يكتب خطاً حسناً. توفي رحمه الله تعالى بالقاهرة في تاسع عشري شعبان سنة أربع وثلاثين وسبع مئة.
