داود بن مروان بن داود الفقيه الإمام القاضي نجم الدين أبو سليمان الملطي الحنفي. كان شيخاً كبيراً من أعيان الحنفية، درس بعدة مدارس، وتولى قضاء العسكر. وكان يقدم إلى دمشق، ويحكم فيها نيابةً عن قاضي القضاة حسام الدين أيام إقامته. وكان فيه مروءة وتعصب. توفي رحمه الله تعالى ثالث شهر ربيع الأول سنة سبع عشرة وسبع مئة.
