أحمد بن محمد بن يوسف ابن محمد بن عبد الله الإمام شهاب الدين بن ناصر الدين ابن الإمام المحدّث مجد الدين بن المهتار الدمشقي. سمع من شمس الدين بن أبي عمرو، وفخر الدين بن البخاري، وابن الزين، وابن الواسطي، ومن جماعة. وكان يكتب كتابة حسنة، وجوّد عليه الخطّ جماعة، وكان يشهد تحت الساعات، ويؤمّ بالمجاهدية المجاورة لباب الفراديس، ويحضر دار الحديث مع الجماعة، وعنده وسكون ومداراة واحتمال. وتوفي رحمه الله تعالى يوم الأربعاء رابع عشر المحرّم سخن خمس وثلاثين وسبع مئة، وبلغ من العمر سبعين سنة.
