أحمد بن عبد المحسن بن الحسن بن معالي القاضي الإمام نجم الدين أبو العباس الدمشقي الشافعي. تفقَّه على الشيخ تاج الدين عبد الرحمن ولازمه، وأعاد بحلقته وولي إعادةالظاهرية والقيمريَّة وغيرهما. وولي قضاء القدس في أيام القاضي بهاء الدين ابن الزكي وناب في الحكم سنين عن ابن صَصَرى، ودرس بالنجيبيّة وغيرها. وسمع من ابن عبد الدائم، وروى عنه، وسمع من ابن أبي الخير، وابن علان، وجماعة. وحج غيره مرة. وتوفي رحمه الله تعالى في ثامن عشر شعبان سنة ست وعشرين وسبع مئة. ومولده سنة تسع وأربعين وست مئة.
