محمد بن أحمد بن الحسين الغطريفي الجرجاني ذكر ابن الصلاح عن البرذعي أنه بلغه أنه تغير انتهى وقد تعقب شيخنا العراقي كلام ابن الصلاح فيما قرأته عليه فإنه لم ير أحدا ذكره بالاختلاط في كلام كثير وفي آخره "وثم آخر يوافق الغطريفي في الاسم واسم أبيه وبلده ويقاربه أيضا في اسم الجد وهما متعاصران وقد اختلط في آخر عمره فيحتمل أن يكون اشتبه الغطريفي به إلى أن قال واسم الآخر ـ يعني المختلط ـ محمد بن أحمد بن الحسن الجرجاني وقد بين الحاكم في تاريخ نيسابور اختلاط هذا انتهى وهذا الرجل هو المذكور قبل صاحب الترجمة والله أعلم٩٣ -
