    خالد الشَّيْبَاني (٠٠٠ - ٢٣٠ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ٨٤٥ م) خالد بن يزيد بن مزيد بن زائدة، أبو يزيد الشيبانيّ: أحد الأمراء الولاة الأجواد في العصر العباسي. وهو ممدوح أبي تمام. ولاه المأمون مصر (سنة ٢٠٦ هـ ودخلها، وقاتله عبيد الله بن السريّ، فلم يستقرّ فيها. فولاه الموصل ثم زاده ديار ربيعة كلها، فأقام إلى أيام الواثق، فلما انتقضت أرمينية انتدبه الواثق، فتجهز في جيش عظيم وزحف يريدها فاعتلّ في طريقه. ومات قبل بلوغها. كان يكنى في السلم ب أبي يزيد، وفي الحرب ب أبي الزبير. ولسعيد الديوه جي (الأمير خالد ابن يزيد - ط) (٢) .
