    [٥١٦٧] كَثِير بن زياد البُرْسانيُّ، أبو سَهْل الأَزْديُّ، بَصْريُّ الأصل، سكن بَلْخ (¬٢). سمع: الحسن البَصْري، وأبا سمية، ومُسَّة الأزدية. روى عنه: غالب بن سُلَيْمان، وسلَّام بن مسكين، وحمَّاد بن زيد، وجعفر بن زياد الأَحْمَر، وجُوَيْبر بن سعيد، وعليُّ بن عبد الأعلى، ونوح ابن قَيْس، وعمر بن الرَّمَّاح، والوسيم بن جميل، عم قتيبة بن سعيد. قال يحيى بن معين: ثقة. وقال أبو حاتم: لا بأس به، من أكابر أصحاب الحسن. روى له: أبو داود، والترمذي، وابن ماجه.
