[٤٨٥٣] عمرو بن عثمان بن عفان بن أبي العاص بن أُمَيّة بن عبد شمس الأُمويُّ المَدَني (¬٢). روى عن: أبيه، وأسامة بن زيد. روى عنه: علي بن الحسين، وسعيد بن المُسَيِّب، وأبو الزّناد عبد الله ابن ذَكْوان. قال أبو زرعة: الرُّواة يقولون: عمرو. ومالك يقول: عُمر. قال البخاري: وهو وهم. وقال إبراهيم بن طهمان، عن مالك: عمرو، وهو أخو أبان وسعيد. وقال يحيى القَطَّان: قلت لمالك: إنما هو عمرو بن عثمان، فأبى أن يرجع، وقال: وقد كان لعثمان ابنٌ يقال له: عُمَر، وهذه داره. وقال أحمد بن حنبل: عمرو بن عثمان أحب إليَّ من طلحة بن يحيي.روى له الجماعة.
