    [٤٧٧٨] عُمر بن كَثِير بن أَفْلَح الأَنْصاري، مولى أبي أيوب (¬٢). روى عن: عبد الله بن عمر بن الخطاب، ونافع مولى أبي قتادة، وعبيد سنوطا، وابن سفينة، وعبد الرحمن بن كيسان (¬٣). روى عنه: يحيى بن سعيد الأنصاري، وعبد الله بن عون. قال الطَّبَرِي: قال ابن أبي حاتم: روى عنه محمد بن بشر العبدي، وحماد بن خالد الخَيَّاط، وأبو عون الزيادي، غير أن أبا عون قال: عمرو، وهو وهم من ابن أبي حاتم، ولم يدرك هؤلاء عمر بن كثير، ولا أحدًا منهم. روى له الجماعة إلا النَّسائي.
